Woodland Mulch 70 litre bag

Woodland mulch is suitable for all landscape gardening uses including mulch for borders, paths and other decorative garden areas. Our bags contain aprox. 70 litres of bark mulch and are a great way to make finishing touches to areas of your landscaped garden such as borders and beds, or planters, pots and containers.

The smaller 70L bag is easy to move around the garden, and should give a coverage of 1 square metre to a depth of around 5-7 cm. Woodland mulch also suppresses garden weeds, helps to retain soil moisture and during extreme temperatures it will help to protect plant roots.

As woodland mulch decompose it improves the soil structure, permeability, bioactivity, and nutrient availability. chips when used as a mulch should be laid at least 5-7 cm thick. whilst all practical measures are taken to remove foreign matter such as metal, glass and plastic we cannot guarantee the complete absence all extraneous material.

What to use Woodland mulch for?

A mulch is a layer of material applied to the surface of an area of soil. Its purpose is any or all of the following:- to conserve moisture to improve the fertility and health of the soil to reduce weed growth to enhance the visual appeal of the area A mulch is usually but not exclusively organic in nature. It may be laid as permanent (e.g. bark chips) or temporary (e.g. on plastic sheeting). It may be applied to bare soil, or around existing plants. Mulches of manure or compost will be incorporated naturally into the soil by the activity of worms and other organisms. The process is used both in commercial crop production and in gardening, and when applied correctly can dramatically improve soil productivity.
